The BADL strives for an environment where lovers of the true game of darts (steel-tip darts) can compete, learn and bond with other like individuals. The BADL also attempts to spread the darting community by incorporating as many establishments as possible in any events (from League nights, to Blind Draw Tournaments, to Board meetings, to get-togethers). Spreading the game of darts along with goodwill toward the community is the most important goal of the League.
The BADL was established in 1979. We had played darts in Fort Erie under the name of the Buffalo Soccer Club for some years. Today, the League consists of 18 teams (over 100 participants). The BADL is a travel league, containing teams from Niagara Falls, to Buffalo, to Orchard Park, to Clarence. Each year, the BADL is trying to reach out to the community to support some local foundation. This year we have chosen to support the Buffalo chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Cystic fibrosis is an inherited chronic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system of about 30,000 children and adults in the United States (70,000 worldwide). One of our current member's daughter suffers from this disease. The League found it very fitting that we support this cause, both from a community aspect and a personal one. And seeing we like to have fun when we do anything, we thought it also very fitting to use a dart event to help bring the League and the community together. Every two years, the BADL plans on supporting a worthy local foundation to help raise awareness and funds (all to support that local foundation).
